The Downing Wedding

In a decision Tyler and I made many, many months before Conner was due to make his debut, we decided that Tyler and Jackson would venture to Colorado to attend Shea and Fraser's wedding - one week before my due date.

The plan was for the guys to make a quick trip, and for me to relax and keep that baby snug inside.

When the time came to drop them off at the airport, I was nervous. I spent three quick days wandering Target, getting a pedicure, eating in peace, and napping. It was glorious.

Jackson was the ring bearer, and he nailed it. Although he was clearly nervous - and wasn't enjoying all those eyes on him, he put on his brave face, and walked the entire length of the aisle in his own.

I attended the ceremony (and part of the reception) via FaceTime thanks to my parents. It was beautiful, and went off without a hitch. While Tyler and Jackson danced the night away, I lounged on the couch, ice cream in one hand, and remote in the other.

Thankfully, baby stayed put for the duration of their trip, and Tyler and Jackson were able to enjoy a boys getaway to partake in the Downing wedding.

A Gender Neutral Nursery

Tyler and Jackson are out of town for three days, on a quick trip for his sister's wedding. This means I have some time to myself, and a modest to-do list to tackle before baby #2 makes his/her way. One such task was to finally take and post pictures of the nursery.

I am not thrilled with most gender neutral things. Yellow and green are not my jam, but thankfully I've been on a gray and white kick throughout the house, so applying these colors to the baby room seemed natural. My vision was light, bright, and simple with some rustic accents.

I found the stellar cow print at TJ Maxx way back in April, and let it become the foundation for the rest of the room. Teal quickly became the obvious choice for an accent color, and I plan to add splashes of navy if baby thing is a boy, and coral if a sweet girl pops out.

Without further delay - here is the nursery reveal, right on time, just one week before D Day.

Backyard Camping

Here's the deal. I'm entirely too pregnant to do any camping of any kind. It's going to take a lot of convincing to get me to sleep in a tent when I'm not packing 20 extra pounds in my belly - so there was no chance I was crawling into a sleeping bag under the stars this summer.

But Tyler loves to camp, and Jackson is the perfect age to introduce him to the "magic" that is the great outdoors. Plus, we live in the middle of nowhere - so they could enjoy all the perks of camping with the convenience of our house just feet away.

And Jackson did awesome. I think he may be ready to graduate to camping outside the yard next year. Stay tuned...

#bothloveshock

My OFB (original best friend) got MARRIED! And even though I was 8 months pregnant, I was able to be there! We spent a whirlwind of a week in Colorado, spending the majority of that time celebrating Dan and Melissa - and we couldn't be more thrilled for the two of them, or happier to have been part of their big day.

Their love is the kind anyone would want for their best friend. They are so incredibly perfect for one another, and it shows. Dan and Melissa, we can't wait to see what the coming years bring for the both of you, and are so honored to be part of your journey!

Here are a few amateur pictures from our week - but check out the wedding photographer's blog for some incredible pictures that really captured the love, spirit, and style of the big day.
