Conner: 4 Months

Welp, we turned around, and now you're 4 months old.

Sleep has continued to be a major struggle through most of this month, BUT the last few nights we've been blessed by 3-hour stretches. I'll take that. Maybe we're turning a corner? Please? We also bit the bullet and stopped swaddling you, because you weren't sleeping well anyway.

When you are happy, you're really freaking happy, and when you're mad, you're really freaking mad. You're personality is so big, and we can't wait to see where it takes you!

You love to check yourself out in the mirror, stand in the walker (and chew on it's light-up steering wheel), and are reaching for and grabbing toys. You roll from back to front with consistency, and scoot all over your crib. I keep thinking maybe you're teething early because you've had a runny nose more often than not, you drool massively, and you chew on anything you can get your hands on. But so far, no sign of any teeth.

Your grin melts me. Every.single.time. You smile at the site of me, your daddy, or Jackson, and you let out the sweetest giggles when we tickle you.

You bring us so much joy sweet boy, and this little Stubbs' clan is 1000 times more exciting, full of love, and full of life for having you a part of it.

Listing A Home

You guys. So much is happening. I knew that after the turn of the new year things would begin to move at warp speed, and indeed, they have.

We received official notification that we'll be making the move to Fort Bragg in June, and with that came the go-ahead to get our house on the market. We decided to list on February 1st, which meant January was spent getting everything in order. A realtor, paperwork, the house, pictures. We've spent the better part of the last 30 days cleaning, decluttering - repeat.

We fell in love with this house the moment we pulled up to it the very first time we saw it. It felt "right." In the years since, our family has multiplied in size. We've survived a deployment, two puppies, a toddler and a newborn. We've made it through three upstate winters, and enjoyed the same number of gorgeous summers. We've shared our home with countless visitors, hosted many a game night, and embraced the happy chaos that is friends and family filling our home.

Our hearts have grown in every way in this place. When it's time to drive out of this driveway for the final time, I'm confident there will be tears. I will miss the silence of a snowy morning. The calm of the evening sunset. The horses that graze in our backyard, the space where Jackson and our dogs ran freely.

I will miss the rooms where we kissed our babies goodnight each evening. The corner where I rock Conner in the wee morning hours.

There will be other rooms. There will be other corners - and I'm confident they'll also come to hold a special place in my heart. But this place, the first home we owned, will forever be a cornerstone in the family we are growing to be.

Stay tuned, as we navigate the home-selling process and march toward a move to the South in late May! (And also, forgive me for the lack of posts as life continues to demand the most of my time.)
