Listing A Home

You guys. So much is happening. I knew that after the turn of the new year things would begin to move at warp speed, and indeed, they have.

We received official notification that we'll be making the move to Fort Bragg in June, and with that came the go-ahead to get our house on the market. We decided to list on February 1st, which meant January was spent getting everything in order. A realtor, paperwork, the house, pictures. We've spent the better part of the last 30 days cleaning, decluttering - repeat.

We fell in love with this house the moment we pulled up to it the very first time we saw it. It felt "right." In the years since, our family has multiplied in size. We've survived a deployment, two puppies, a toddler and a newborn. We've made it through three upstate winters, and enjoyed the same number of gorgeous summers. We've shared our home with countless visitors, hosted many a game night, and embraced the happy chaos that is friends and family filling our home.

Our hearts have grown in every way in this place. When it's time to drive out of this driveway for the final time, I'm confident there will be tears. I will miss the silence of a snowy morning. The calm of the evening sunset. The horses that graze in our backyard, the space where Jackson and our dogs ran freely.

I will miss the rooms where we kissed our babies goodnight each evening. The corner where I rock Conner in the wee morning hours.

There will be other rooms. There will be other corners - and I'm confident they'll also come to hold a special place in my heart. But this place, the first home we owned, will forever be a cornerstone in the family we are growing to be.

Stay tuned, as we navigate the home-selling process and march toward a move to the South in late May! (And also, forgive me for the lack of posts as life continues to demand the most of my time.)
