Weeks 29 and 30!

By now it's obvious I cannot seem to keep up with weekly posts... but they are short and sweet anyway, so I'm just going to continue throwing multiple weeks together.

It's unbelievable how life just happens, no matter how hard you try to slow down and get things done- time continues to fly. In the last week, we had some wonderful friends come visit (more on that in another post), and then I left on a business trip. Before I knew it- the week was over, again.

Now here we are, less than 10 weeks to baby!!! Currently on my to-do list: catch up on blogs, write thank you notes, read, read some more, work on the nursery... it goes on.

I am still feeling good, no new things to complain about... but this indigestion is KILLER. Tums are my new best friend. I have a small panic attack if I find myself somewhere with no Tums- it's that bad. If that's the worst thing though, I will take it.

Here are some photo updates!

Week 29!

Week 30! (How did I manage to have terrible hair days in BOTH these weekly pictures?! Oh well, moving on...)

'Welcome home" flowers :) Tyler attmepted to bring spring to the Stubbs home, which I so needed!

A beautiful snowy Ohio day to welcome me back from Houston.... I'm ready for spring now!

Can NOT wait to dress this little munchkin- baby clothes are the best!

Here we are- 3rd trimester! New the last couple of weeks:

  • My lower back is hurting more often than it used to. I've employed Tyler for needed back rubs- so far, so good!
  • Bending over is becoming more tricky. Putting on my shoes requires more thought than ever... and I know this is only the beginning!
  • Little Mr. moves ALOT. I love it, but sometimes it does catch me off guard! He is feeling more and more like a baby poking and kicking around in there than the little flutters and rolling I felt before. I am definitely feeling elbows, feet and knees!
  • Still sleeping great (and counting my blessings).
  • We painted little Mr.'s room. One wall is finished and we are debating if it's worth painting the rest, or leaving it as an accent wall. Since we will likely have to paint it back to white in a year when we move, we are thinking hard about this one.
  • Glucose tests- don't even get me started.
  • Our first birthing class! It's great to be meeting other couples who are also preparing for a baby, and I am already learning alot. The more information I get, the better I feel about this whole birthing thing :) One way or another, this little guy is coming out.
  • The name game: still in the works. We have favorites, and likely candidates, but I'm indecisive. To be continued....

The last two weeks in pictures:

Painting the little guys room! If you know Tyler, you know his shirt is off whenever possible.

Week 27

Week 28

I promise I won't freak you out with naked belly overload... but I have a hard time believing this is only going to get bigger- much bigger. I am documenting the beginning of the 3rd trimester so that when I can no longer see my feet, I can laugh at how "small" this belly really is.

NYE 2013

This year we decided to squeeze in one last little getaway before baby Stubbs makes his arrival, and headed to equally cold and snowy Cincinnati. Tyler and I enjoyed amazing food at a Brazillian Steakhouse, went to the square for some live music, then headed back to our hotel room where we had an amazing view of the fireworks. Definitely beat freezing in the crowded square!

Pinning On

As of Dec. 31st, Tyler is officially a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, and I couldn't be more proud of him! While the military life can certainly be trying at times, we have been blessed with "good" deployments, great stations, and tons of opportunity.

To this point, Tyler has had his undergrad paid for, and now his Master's Degree. We lived and travelled Europe for 3+ years where we made friends we will keep for a lifetime. Tyler spent 5 months in Lithuania helping to keep secure the Baltic borders, and then another month on the Flagship for the Libya mission. Now we find ourselves a little more settled and a baby on the way. We are grateful for this opportunity, and take it one day at a time.

This week, we prepared Tyler's uniforms with his new rank.

We are ready for the next chapter, and to see what adventures lie ahead!
