A Little Family and their Photos

How lucky are we to have a photographer in the family? I say this all the time, but it's true. I can think of nothing more special than to have someone around who magically captures day to day moments!

As usual, we enlisted Karen to take some family photos during their visit, and I am so grateful to have these moments on film (...or the computer. Whatever.)

A few of my favorites from our little family photo shoot:

The Thomas Family

Lisa, Wes, and their ridiculously adorable son Hudson decided to visit us a couple weeks ago! We really appreciate being able to spend quality time with a some of our best friends and have them all to ourselves for the weekend! Tyler and I have known Lisa since high school, and we can never seem to get as much time in with friends as we'd like when we visit Colorado. It's always a whirlwind, and now with Jackson, I imagine it will be difficult to sneak away from family at all :)

It's so fun to have boys so close in age, and I'm sure it will only get better and more entertaining with age. I can't wait to watch you boys grow up together, and watch this very first friendship develop! Jackson, you have more sweet little girls after you than you know what to do with (already), but Hudson is your first guy friend!

We all enjoyed a relaxing weekend full of food, German wine, an aquarium visit, pool time, good company, and plenty of firsts for Jackson!

Mother's Day- A First.

As mother's day approached this year, I spent more time thinking about what to get our mothers, and almost no time realizing this would be the first time I would celebrate as a mom myself.  It just snuck up on me, and Tyler and Jackson made it incredibly special. It was a perfect, relaxed Sunday.

The day started when I came downstairs to an already fed, changed, and dressed Jackson, waiting patiently in his swing. We then went to brunch at an adorable eclectic local restaurant downtown called Butter Cafe. It was just as delicious as everyone says it is! We then came home, relaxed, and Jackson and I snuggled up for a coveted afternoon nap. The day ended with a quiet bath after Jackson went to bed. It was simple and refreshing- exactly what I needed.

A huge thank you to my boys who made the day so special. I wouldn't be a mama without either one of you, and I couldn't do it without you either. I am so lucky that God chose me to be your mama Jackson, you are such a blessing!

The Stubbs Family

A couple weeks ago, Shea and Grandma and Grandpa Stubbs came to Dayton to meet Jackson. We had a wonderful time enjoying the early summer air, eachother, and exploring Dayton.

2 Months!

Another month has already passed us by, and our little nugget just gets cuter and cuter (if I do say so myself.)

This month we've enjoyed little smiles, especially when I steal kisses- which I plan to do all day, every day until it begins to embarrass him. Even then, I might not stop.

We refer to 8pm as the witching hour, because most evenings around this time Jackson gets fussy, and there's just no stopping it. My plan has been to force cuddles, whether he likes it or not!

We still have very little in the way of a routine. He eats every 2-3 hours around the clock, although now and again we get the coveted 4 hour stretch at night. This has become much more manageable since little mister now (mostly) goes right back to sleep after eating- hallelujah!

This month in the world of Jackson:

This is a lot of pictures... but narrowing these down is the biggest challenge of my day. Thanks for hanging in there!
